With green hydrogen is predicted to play a critical role in the UK's long term energy transition, it's great to see Aberdeen being selected by ERM for a pioneering offshore floating facility.
Awarded £3.12m from the UK Government, ERM's Dolphyn project is reported to be the first of its kind combining the latest floating wind and hydrogen production technologies.
The project now moves forward to its second phase - detailed engineering and consents - with a view to a final investment decision on a prototype facility by March 2021.
All going to plan, Aberdonians will have the opportunity to view a different breed of dolphin from our shores.
Aberdeen has been selected as the home for the “world’s first” offshore floating facility to produce green hydrogen.
